Gazos Creek State Beach: February 1, 2009

Eric led a hike on Superbowl Sunday at Gazos Creek State Beach to see the elephant seals. There were quite a few male seals lying on the beach, exhausted from having fought for their mates. The male seals who lose go to rest on the shore. Some of them were so worn out they could barely move. We were able to get very close to them this year.

There was a big turn out this year. Eric had to pay particular attention to the list of attendees so that we didn't lose anyone.
